Exporter Education

Food Export Association understands that exporting is a complex business. We provide Exporter Education services that interact with our U.S. exporters to answer their complex questions or provide a general overview of the business.

Food Export Helplinesm
Ever needed one-on-one export assistance but didn't know where to turn? This unique Food Export Association service provides midwestern companies with customized, one-on-one assistance on a wide variety of export-related topics. Whether you have a quick question about exporting or need long-term assistance, Food Export Association's Food Export Helpline can be of service! For enrolling in this free service, our counselor can also conduct a top 25 market report for you product!

Export Essentials Online
U.S. food companies can now learn the complex steps of exporting and how to integrate all the elements of the export transaction at their own pace. This online education center consists of ten modules that can guide companies to determine their export readiness, research and target their top markets and even create an export marketing strategy.

AgExportLinks
AgExportLinks offers food and agricultural firms simplified access to a nationwide database of qualified, export service providers such as trading companies, export marketing companies, freight forwarders, international bankers, export brokers and more. Each search generates a list that is exactly tailored to your needs and includes contact information, company descriptions and website links. The database is accessible free of charge.

To assist companies to enter new markets, Food Export Association offers several services to assist U.S. exporters:

Food Show PLUS!sm
Exporting is competitive in any market. When building new relationships at international tradeshows, U.S. exporters need to know who their competitors are, make direct contacts with local importers and have a local representative in the market. Food Show PLUS!sm provides the technical and logistical assistance you need to be a more prepared and be an effective exhibitor.

Global Food Marketer
The Global Food Marketer is a bi-monthly newsletter for US exporters.  Its distributed to about 12,000 Midwest and Northeast food companies.

The newsletter contains useful articles, updates on overseas market conditions and trends, marketing tips, a column by our Food Export Helpline counselor, and a calendar of upcoming events sponsored by  Food Export Association of the Midwest USA  and Food Export USA - Northeast.

Online Product Catalog
This web-based catalog is an effective way to promote your products to international buyers from around the world. By including your products in this virtual directory, buyers will easily be able to locate your company when searching by product, company name, or other criteria.

Market Builder
Finding the right market for your product is the key to exporting success! Exporters who are looking to secure their product in an international market, find new distributors or importers, and receive valuable feedback about their product, can now use the assistance of the Market Builder service. This one-of-a-kind service offers packages designed and according to an exporter's needs and wants.

Market Promotions

Branded Program
This cost-share funding program provides financial assistance to help midwestern food and agricultural exporters promote their products in international markets. Participants in this program receive 50% cost reimbursement for a variety of overseas marketing and promotional expenses.

Other Food Export Association Activities
Food Export Association also sponsors other international marketing activities to help companies begin or expand their international sales, including overseas trade missions and in-store promotions.
